The reason bolted tanks dominate exported storage capacity has less to do with the tank than with the road. A welded vessel is built at a diameter the process wants and then has to be moved there, and beyond roughly four metres in diameter the moving becomes the project - abnormal loads, route surveys, escorts, permits and a transport cost that can rival the vessel itself. A bolted tank separates the two problems: the plates are made to the process and packed to the container, so the diameter the process wants and the diameter that can be shipped are no longer the same number.
That advantage only materialises if the export package is complete, and completeness is where exporters differ most. Shijiazhuang Zhengzhong Technology Co., Ltd. (Center Enamel) has exported bolted tanks to more than one hundred countries since 2008, and the list below is what separates a shipment that erects cleanly from one that generates months of correspondence.
Four things change when a tank ships as a kit rather than as a vessel: freight economics, coating quality control, site labour requirements and the ability to stage or relocate capacity later.
Most disputes on exported tanks are scope disputes, and they are almost always discovered on site rather than in the contract. The items below are the ones most frequently assumed and most often missing.
Clearance and site approval run on paper, and the documents are predictable. What causes delay is usually a mismatch between what the letter of credit or the local authority requires and what the exporter assumed would be acceptable.
| Export Element | What to Confirm Before Ordering | Risk If Assumed |
| Incoterm and place | FOB, CFR, CIF or DDP with an exact named place | Disputed responsibility for freight, insurance and risk |
| HS classification | Code confirmed with the destination tariff | Customs hold and unbudgeted duty |
| Packing plan | Plate separation, edge protection, loading sequence | Coating damage in transit and claims disputes |
| Erection package | Jacking system, tools, manual, supervisor | Crew arrives without the means to build |
| Documentation language | Manual and drawings in the agreed language | Site cannot follow the instructions |
Every tank delivered by Shijiazhuang Zhengzhong Technology Co., Ltd. (Center Enamel) is engineered against AWWA D103-09 and EN 1090 with finite element verification of shell, roof and nozzle loads, fused at 820-930°C under ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 control, holiday tested at 1500 V across one hundred percent of the surface, and assembled with Grade 8.8 bolts and manufacturer-certified sealant. Tanks are engineered against AWWA D103-09 and EN 1090 under ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, packed to a container loading plan with plate separation and edge protection, and shipped with the full commercial, transport and technical documentation set, plus erection supervision, hydrostatic test procedure and commissioning support where the contract includes them.
Plates are separated with protective material, edges are protected and bundles are secured to a loading plan so they cannot shift. The fused coating is far more tolerant of handling than a painted film, but packing discipline still matters and the loading plan should be part of the deliverable.
Yes, and that is a principal advantage of bolted construction. Courses are lifted and bolted in sequence under a supervisor provided by the manufacturer, using the jacking or lifting system supplied with the vessel. No coded welders are required on site.
A completed foundation cured to the specified tolerance with anchor setting verified, plus access for container delivery and for the lifting equipment named in the erection plan. Foundation tolerance is the single most common cause of erection delay.
Yes. Designs can be engineered to AWWA D103-09 or to EN 1090 and the Eurocodes, and drawings, manuals and certificates can be issued in the language and format your authority or engineer requires.
