This is the application of Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks for a brewery wastewater treatment project In East Timor. Heineken builds its own wastewater treatment plant nearby their brewery. Heineken is well known for its signature green bottle and a red star. One of the most pressing environmental issues of Heineken brewery is the treatment and disposal of wastewater. When beer wastewater is dumped untreated into public waters, it can lead to the growth of plants, algae and bacteria, which can cause oxygen levels to drop and eventually lead to eutrophication, making the water unfit for most aquatic life.
There are two options for the brewery to treat their wastewater in order to avoid punitive measures, wastewater discharges to the local municipal wastewater treatment plant or the brewery could install a treatment system for its process wastewater. The perfect solution is the brewery build up its own wastewater treatment system, which will allow the brewery to reuse the treated water and save a lot of money. the result of this is a brewery that has avoided punitive actions from the local municipality while choosing an environment-friendly option.
