Olive oil is rich in vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids (up to 83%) and antioxidants (polyphenols of olive oil: oleic acid, olefropeini, squalene). These substances benefit the health of the stomach, duodenum, and cardiovascular system, while also helping to reduce "bad" and increase "good" cholesterol, respectively. Extra virgin olive oil is an expensive commodity in the United States compared to the cost in European countries, especially Mediterranean countries.
