Description of Glass Lined Water Storage Tank :
Glass-Fused-to-Steel Storage Tanks offer long lifetime and value. Glass coating protects tanks from weather and corrosion. There are multiple advantages in using glass-fused-to-steel tanks for the storage of potable water, corrosive and other liquid applications. In addition to ease of assembly, they have greater lifetime value, far lower maintenance costs and little environmental impact compared with other liquid storage structures.
The glass lined steel process involves the high-temperature fusion of glass to steel at approximately 850°C. The fusion of glass and steel provides a product with an inert, durable finish. These two materials are fused together to combine " the strength and flexibility of steel with the high corrosion resistance of glass ".
Glass lined steel tanks are made of sheets that are bolted together, and water tightness is provided by a highly resistant silicone or polyurethane mastic sealant applied between the sheets. It is a competitive, long-term technical solution for process water and waste water storage.
