Glass-lined bolted steel tanks have become more frequent in recent years, despite the higher initial cost. The argument for glass-lined jars is simple: the glass coating is non-porous and very hard. Therefore, the theory is that the liquid cannot reach the steel and cause corrosion, which could destroy the tank. You can rely on Center Enamel's glass-lined tanks, which are designed for optimum energy efficiency, durability, and long-lasting performance. The fired glass lining keeps this tank from corrosion, which is constantly eroding the tank.
Glass-Fused-to-Steel (Glass-Lined-Steel) is a unique tank finish. The two materials are fused to achieve the best of both worlds – the strength and flexibility of steel combined with the corrosion resistance of glass. Glass-Fused-to-Steel is suitable for interior and exterior surfaces and provides years of trouble-free service in harsh environments.
