AWWA D103-09 Bolted Steel Tanks For Potable Water Storage
Bolted steel tanks are a convenient storage solution for potable water storage They are constructed from individual steel panels that are manufactured and finished in the factory, then transported to the site and bolted together using the appropriate gaskets and fasteners for the product that will be stored. Unlike conventional concrete or welded storage solutions, which require extensive fabrication and finishing processes onsite, bolted tanks offer quick installation, lower shipping costs, and they can be assembled in nearly any type of weather, eliminating many weather-related delays.
All our bolted steel tanks are made of Glass-Fused-to-Steel, so we also call it Glass-Fused-To-Steel tanks. Glass-Fused-To-Steel combines the strength and flexibility of steel and the corrosion resistance of glass. After firing at 820°C-930°C high temperature, the molten glass reacts with the steel plate surface to form an inert and inorganic bond, which combines the strength and flexibility of steel and outstanding corrosion resistance of glass, so Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks can provide many advantages over standard epoxy or weld painted storage tanks.
